Be it enacted by the Town Board of the Town of New Baltimore as follows:

Section 1 - PURPOSE

    The purpose of this Local Law is to establish the title of Deputy Justice Clerk as an exempt civil service title.

Section 2 - ESTABLISHMENT OF POSITION OF DEPUTY JUSTICE CLERK

A.    The Town of New Baltimore hereby establishes the position of Deputy Justice Clerk as an exempt civil service title.

B.    The Deputy Justice Clerk shall act in the place of the Justice Clerk and shall also perform those duties as are assigned by the Justice Clerk or the Town Justices from time to time.

Section 3 - APPROVAL OF STATE COMMISSION

The Town hereby requests that the Greene County Civil Service Commission request approval from the New York State Civil Service Commission to place the Deputy Justice Clerk title in the appendices of the Greene County Civil Service Rules as an exempt title.

Section 4 - EFFECTIVE DATE

    This local law shall take effect immediately upon filing in the Office of the New York Secretary of State.
